1. What’s your top story for today?
My top story for today is tips on how to beat holiday weight gain and deal with holiday stress at the same time.
2. Tell us about your dream assignment.
My dream assignment would include covering the Superbowl somewhere tropical. A girl can dream!
3. Describe the wackiest story you’ve written.
The wackiest story I’ve ever written was about unusual sources of protein. I’d never try them but many people will eat bugs as their source of protein. As for me, I stick to fish, nuts and eggs.
4. What is your PR pet peeve?
My PR pet peeve is receiving incorrect information, especially when it comes to diet and fitness. There is a lot of information out there. Be sure to check facts and know what science is available to support the topic you’re pitching me.
5.Top trend in the industry you’re currently covering or are interested in.
In the health and fitness industry, a lot of great information is coming out about the mental aspects of fitness. It’s true that your mind and body are one! Another
industry-wide trend is training for daily life, or “functional” movements. We’re seeing more about how people move and how to make them better at it.
6. Tell us a little about yourself.
I have been fitness professional for about 4 years, and I love it! The best part is watching others feel empowered and seeing the amazing things they accomplish.Currently I’m working on a few projects that I’m really excited about. I am writing a yet untitled eBook that will be available this spring for download to your Kindle. And you’ll be seeing weekly YouTube videos via my website (www.leannedow.net) showing the proper way to do exercises. In my spare time, I am attending JFKU in Pleasant Hill, CA, and I’m halfway through the program for my MBA. I am a native Californian – from the Bay Area – and I am so grateful to live in such a richly cultured, beautiful place (with such great food to boot!). Typically, you can find me hiking with my dog, cooking up a healthy meal, or learning something new.
I’d love to hear from you. Contact me via email at [email protected]
