Meet our Public Relations Global Network Partners – HMA PR, PRGN Agency in Phoenix, Ariz.

Meet HMA Public Relations, our PRGN agency affiliate in Phoenix, Ariz.
By Abbie S. Fink, HMA PR’s Vice President and General Manager

1) In a few sentences, please tell us about your firm, your role and what makes your agency unique.
HMA Public Relations is a full-service marketing communications firm based in Phoenix. 2015 marks our 35th year providing outstanding service to clients in the region.  As far as we know, that makes us the oldest continuously operating independent firm in the marketplace. We’re commemorating that milestone by doing random acts of kindness.
2) What is the market for PR like in your city?
The PR community in Phoenix is strong. We have a good mix of independent practitioners, small to midsize agencies as well as a variety of corporate and nonprofit communicators. Our industry is very tight-knit, often sharing resources, referring business and supporting each other through our involvement in organizations such as PRSA or IABC.
3) Tell us about an upcoming PR campaign that excites you.
For the third year, we’re working with the Girl Scout-Cactus Pine Council (GSCPC) to help promote the annual cookie sales campaign. In partnership with our client, we created the Girl Scout Cookie Dessert Challenge, which this year includes more than a dozen local chefs creating one-of-a-kind dessert recipes using one of the many Girl Scout cookies. Desserts are available throughout the month of February.  GSCPC has set of goal of selling 3.3 million boxes of cookies, with the proceeds used to support Girl Scouting in Arizona and to support the transformation of the organization’s local camp – Camp Sombrero – into a Leadership Center for Girls and Women.
4) What is one of your most memorable PR campaigns?
HMA has had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of campaigns in our 35-year history. The most memorable are those where we’ve seen the direct impact that our work has had on our community. Whether that was raising awareness of tribal communities in our state, advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, welcoming new businesses to the Valley or standing side by side with a client in crisis, we are very proud of our work. We are even more proud of the HMA teams over the years and the many clients we have had the pleasure to work with.

  1. Scott, Abbie and the entire HMA team – we’re delighted to have you as our PR partners in Phoenix and especially this year to be working with you on Carrington College. Keep up those random acts of kindness – we just might steal them for our 25th anniversary later this year! Cheers, David

  2. Great to hear from you, HMA Public Relations team! I love the idea of your “Girl Scout Cookie Dessert Challenge.”

  3. Thanks for contributing to our blog, Abbie! I’ve enjoyed following HMA’s random acts of kindness on Instagram!
