Last week, I had the opportunity to attend NVIDIA’s 2025 Global Technology Conference (GTC). The event provided a glimpse into the future, especially around the use of AI and its expanding applications across industries. Walking the show floor, I was struck by how technology doesn’t just process information but enhances human creativity, turning our most innovative dreams into tangible realities.
Understanding these advancements is crucial for PR and marketing professionals to stay ahead of the curve and effectively position our clients as thought leaders.
Here are my takeaways from GTC and some thoughts about the implications for PR and marketing:
AI is not just for virtual worlds anymore. AI is coming to the physical world in meaningful ways.
During his keynote, NVIDIA CEO, Jensen Huang, emphasized that we are still in the early stages of AI’s evolution, yet its impact is already significant.
AI is exploding beyond the boundaries of the computer into our everyday world. Those of us living in San Francisco are familiar with self-driving cars (even if some people aren’t yet comfortable with them) and jumping into a Waymo is a fast-growing tourist attraction for those from out of town. What else might be possible that we haven’t even dreamt of today? At GTC, I saw mind-blowing applications of robotics for everything from surgical operations to package delivery. The applications are seemingly endless.
For PR and marketing professionals, this shifts our role to that of storytellers who can translate complex AI innovations into compelling narratives that resonate with our clients’ stakeholders.
AI is transforming industries and PR must keep up
Immersion in our client’s industry is critical for crafting thoughtful messaging. At Landis, we specialize in environmental, healthcare, and technology PR and are monitoring how emerging AI advancements might change these industries’ landscapes.
A great example of this is NVIDIA’s Earth 2. The development of the Earth’s digital twin could revolutionize environmental PR by enabling organizations to model climate scenarios, predict and prevent disasters before they happen, and advocate for policy changes based on real-time data. PR messaging strategies could position clients at the forefront of environmental conservation by incorporating more precise, data-driven content in their narratives.
In healthcare, AI-powered robotic surgery represents a technological breakthrough and an advancement in human potential. With robotic arms, a surgeon can work under preferred conditions, allowing for unprecedented visibility and precision while reducing the required number of medical professionals for each surgery. PR can leverage these technological advancements to emphasize a hospital’s or surgical practice’s commitment to innovation and patient safety.
AI is becoming more secure
AI is here to help us, not hurt us. NVIDIA CEO, Jensen Huang, announced that every line of code is safety-assessed by third parties to ensure diversity, transparency and explainability. This focus on security is particularly relevant for industries like healthcare, where trust and patient privacy are top priorities.
End Note: AI is something to embrace
AI isn’t a distant future—it’s our present reality. As Harvard Business School professor Karim R Lakhani said, “AI Won’t Replace Humans — But Humans With AI Will Replace Humans Without AI.” AI will enhance what you already do. Don’t fall behind the curve.
